From the Slopes to Startups

Dan and Kevin first crossed paths at Bates College, where they bonded over early mornings on the ski team and late nights as roommates. Their shared drive for teamwork and problem-solving set the foundation for a lifelong friendship, and, eventually, a company that would change the way businesses approach onboarding.

Careers That Led to a Common Challenge

After college, Dan and Kevin pursued careers in tech, working at industry leaders like Twilio and Instacart. They each played key roles in supporting rapid growth, scaling teams, and navigating the complexities of onboarding at high-speed, high-growth companies.

Winter 2023

A Frustration Becomes a Mission

While tackling the challenges of onboarding at Twilio and Instacart, they saw firsthand how People Teams were bogged down with manual processes, missing visibility, and an overwhelming number of tasks. They knew there had to be a better way, so they built it. Camino was born to transform onboarding from a fragmented process into a seamless experience for HR teams, managers, and new hires alike.

From day one, Camino has been built in partnership with HR leaders. We launched with a 30-member Customer Advisory Board made up of forward-thinking People Leaders and went into beta with six pioneering companies. Their insights helped shape Camino into what it is today, a platform designed to lighten HR workloads, drive better onboarding experiences, and set new hires up for success.
